THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR A DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE

How Can Your Investment in ELCG's Program Support Your Company's Drug-Free Workplace Policy and Add Value to Your Loss Prevention Strategy?

In the last decade drug testing in the workplace has gone from ground zero to virtual universal acceptance in the business community. Safety concerns are- and should be- the primary motivation for company drug testing programs. However, the most significant- and positive- impact of drug testing is not detection of drug usage, but deterrence. Many companies have a drug-free workplace policy and do some type of testing. But simply having a two-paragraph anti-drug policy in the employee handbook and "doing drug testing" does not, in and of itself, constitute an effective drug abuse prevention program.

That is why you should consider a small investment in ELCG's Program, which includes all of the key elements for a "best practices" drug-abuse prevention program…such as a model drug-free workplace policy, "how to" communicate the Program to employees, complete training materials for employees regarding drug education and awareness, complete training materials for supervisors on detection, awareness, and "how to" handle applicants and employees who test positive for substance abuse.

ELCG's Program will enhance your efforts in preventing substance abuse, dealing with employee disciplinary issues associated with positive test results, and maintaining a safer, healthier, and more productive workplace.

Why Should My Company Be Concerned With Having a Drug Abuse Prevention Program Like the One Offered by ELCG?

Seventy-five percent of all individuals who abuse drugs are currently employed in the workplace. An effective prevention program can reduce your chances of having a drug abuser in your company's work force. A good loss prevention strategy regarding substance abuse is to reduce your liability exposure and overall costs. While safety is, of course, a major concern, there are other direct costs to your business for failure to have an effective drug abuse prevention program. These costs include loss of productivity, increased health care costs, product defects, turnover and absenteeism, workers' compensation costs, industrial and environmental accidents, property damage, lower employee morale, negative company image and loss of good will, and employee theft from the company and co-workers.

Management has the ultimate responsibility to ensure that the business is run safely, profitability and productively. ELCG's drug abuse prevention program can help you achieve these goals.
